Whose side of the table?

  • Who the salesperson works for

    The dealership.

  • How a broker gets paid

The spread. His fee climbs with the car’s price.

  • Who we work for

You. One flat fee, paid by you only.

We work only for you.

1

We save you time

Done properly, buying a car is about twelve hours of work across six to eight dealerships — and almost all of it happens during your workday, on the phone, while you’re supposed to be doing your actual job.

Hand it to us instead. Most deals close in under 10 business days. And the more lead time you give us, the lower we can get the price — a dealer who knows you need a car by Friday has no reason to move.

2

Almost always the best price

We shop dozens of dealerships, not the two closest to you, and we make each one commit to a real out-the-door number in writing. Then we put them against each other at the same time.

On past deals, that has come in $1,750 to $5,000 under what brokers quoted for the same vehicle. We’ll say “almost always” because we’re not going to promise you something we can’t control — but we’ll put our fee behind it. See the guarantee below.

3

You hate the dealership

The floor. The four-square. The finance office where four products slide across the desk and you get ninety seconds to decide.

You never negotiate with anyone. We do that part. In most cases you walk in once, with every number already agreed in writing and a list of exactly what to decline, and you drive out.

How it works

  1. 1

    We talk — 15 to 30 minutes

What car, what budget, what timeline. Your trade-in, how you’re financing, who else is in on the decision, how many car seats have to fit across the back. The more we know going in, the better the deal comes out.

  2. 2

    We shop dozens of dealerships

Local and out of state — not just the two near you. We pull window stickers, verify what’s actually on the lot, and make dealers commit to real out-the-door numbers in writing. This is the hard, slow, unglamorous part, and it’s most of what you’re paying for.

  3. 3

We negotiate several dealers at once

Your trade-in gets valued separately, so nobody can quietly move money between the trade and the car and call it a discount. Incentives, rebates, mileage allowances, money factor, residual — all of it checked, on every offer.

  4. 4

You choose from at least 2 options

Ranked and explained in plain English: why each one is what it is, and what you’re giving up to take it. No pressure and no recommendation dressed up as a fact. You pick.

  5. 5

    You sign and drive

We lock the numbers in writing and set your appointment — or arrange delivery, at the dealers who offer it. You sign your own paperwork and take your own car, with a written brief on exactly what to decline in the finance office.

Your total time: one phone call, a few minutes to choose, and at most one trip to the dealership. We do the other twelve hours.

The Beat-It Guarantee

Already working with a broker, or holding a quote from one? Bring it to us before we start.

We beat it, or we pay the difference

If we can’t come in under your broker’s out-the-door number on a comparable vehicle, the gap comes off our fee — up to the entire $1,000.

If it’s already a great number, we’ll tell you

Sometimes we look at a quote and tell you straight out that it isn’t one we can beat, and that you should take it. You keep your money and we don’t take the job. That answer costs you nothing.

Same car, same terms

The quote has to be in writing, still valid, and on a comparable vehicle with comparable financing — so we’re measuring real numbers against real numbers, not a stripped trim against a loaded one.

$1,000

One flat fee. Start to finish.

No percentage of the car’s price. No upsells. No hidden costs. And not one dollar from any dealer, lender, manufacturer, or warranty company.

Buy or lease, $25,000 or $95,000 — the fee is the same. It has to be. The moment our pay moves with the price of the car, we stop being on your side of the table.

Being straight with you

If you enjoy negotiating, you have twelve hours to spare, and you already know what a good out-the-door number looks like — do this yourself. You’ll do fine, and you’ll keep the thousand dollars.

We’re not for everyone. Most people call us because they don’t enjoy it, don’t have the time, and don’t know what a good number looks like. That’s a completely reasonable place to be, and it’s who we built this for.

Independent — and you can check

We don’t sell cars. We take zero dollars from any dealer, lender, manufacturer, or warranty company.

You buy directly from the dealership: your name, your paperwork, your money going to them. We never take possession of the car and we never handle your funds — which means there is no mechanism for a dealer to pay us even if one wanted to.

You pay us. So we answer to you.

We never touch the car. We never touch your money.

Common questions

How do I know you’re not getting paid by the dealer too?

Best question you can ask. We’re independent — we don’t sell cars, and we take zero dollars from any dealer, lender, manufacturer, or warranty company. You buy directly from the dealership and we never handle your funds, so there is no mechanism for a dealer to pay us even if one wanted to.

I still have to go to the dealership myself?

Often, yes — and on purpose. You buy directly from the dealership, which is what keeps us independent. But you’re walking in with the numbers already agreed in writing and a list of every product to decline, so it’s nothing like walking in cold. Not every deal works that way: some dealers handle the whole signing electronically and deliver the car to you. Where that’s available, we’ll tell you.

Why not just use a broker?

If a broker will show you what he’s paying for the car and charge a flat fee on top, take it — that’s the same deal we’re offering.

Most work differently. A broker is paid the spread: he gets a number from the dealer, quotes you a higher one, and keeps the difference. What we’ve seen starts around $1,500, is often $3,000, and runs past $5,000 on an expensive car — the fee climbs with the price. And every extra dollar he negotiates off is another dollar he can keep instead of passing it to you.

Ours is $1,000 whether the car is $25,000 or $95,000, and whether we save you $500 or $5,000. Nothing for us to keep.

My cousin is in the car business. Why wouldn’t I just use him?

Then use him. But ask whether he’ll negotiate as hard as a stranger would on a deal where he may be leaving his own money on the table — and whether you want to owe family a favor on a car.

How much will I save?

We won’t promise a number, because the honest answer depends on the vehicle, the market, and your credit. On past deals we’ve come in $1,750 to $5,000 under what brokers quoted for the same car. What we will do is put our fee behind it — see the Beat-It Guarantee.

Do you work with leases?

Yes — new purchases and new leases, same flat fee either way. We don’t work on used cars.

What if I change my mind?

Before we start calling dealerships, you get every dollar back. Once we’ve started, the fee isn’t refundable — the hours are spent either way, and you leave with formalized out-the-door numbers. Full detail is on the Service Agreement page.
